Why we exist

"Our mission is to design hands-on, engaging programs that support young parents in navigating life’s challenges, nurturing career growth, and achieving a healthy work-life balance."

Our Story

Community Link Inc. was founded by a group of dedicated community members who, in 2023, recognized the urgent need for career preparation and expand life-skills support for young parents. What began as grassroots efforts quickly evolved by 2024 into the formal establishment of Community Link Inc. as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Since then, we have continued to grow- strengthening our support network, deepening community engagement, and empowering young families to thrive.

About Us

Community Link is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to empowering young parents through education and support.

Our vision is to help young parents build stable, fulfilling lives and maintain a healthy work-life balance through comprehensive programs in parenting, life skills, and workforce development, grounded in social-emotional learning.

We offer a 12-week readiness program along with focused workshops that prepares participants for both the workforce and parenthood. Our program connect young parents directly with employment opportunities, certification training programs, and essential community resources that offer ongoing support.

At Community Link, we don’t just support young parents we stand with them.

parenthood or career goals,we’re here for you.

What to Expect:

At Community Link, we’re here to help you feel prepared for what’s next whether that’s the workplace, school, or daily life. Our program blends virtual learning with in-person, hands-on workshops designed to build the skills you need to succeed as a parent and in the workplace.

You’ll take part in interactive sessions, team challenges, and real-world activities that build essential life skills, soft skills, and workforce readiness you can use right away. From managing your time and setting goals to practicing effective communication and problem solving skills, everything you learn is practical and empowering. Along the way, you’ll be supported by mentors who understand your journey and surrounded by a community of young parents who are growing with you not just cheering you on, but walking beside you.

Participants also earn completion certificates, gain access to volunteer opportunities, and receive support with job placement through our partner network. Whether you're preparing for your first job, re-entering the workforce, or planning your next move, you’ll walk away with more than knowledge you’ll walk away with confidence, connections, and a plan.

"We plant hope in the heart to grow strength in the soul."

"A Day in Their Shoes"

Telling the story behind our work.

“A Day in Their Shoes” emerged from a heartfelt commitment to raise awareness and create compassionate, practical solutions for young parents facing overwhelming challenges. At Community Link, we saw firsthand how many young parents especially those under 18 encounter systemic barriers like limited access to affordable childcare, stable employment, secure housing, and emotional support. These obstacles often trap families in cycles of poverty, making it difficult to build stable and hopeful futures.

Through genuine conversations and deep listening, we discovered a gap in programs designed specifically for young parents. Their stories often go unheard, their resilience overlooked, and their potential undervalued. "A Day in Their Shoes” was created to change that.

This campaign exists to:

  • Share untold stories of resilience, strength, and determination among young parents.

  • Highlight the systemic challenges that make it harder for them to thrive.

  • Increase public understanding of their day-to-day realities.

  • Mobilize resources, volunteers, and donations to support childcare, training, and comprehensive support services.

  • Build a caring village where young parents feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Ultimately, “A Day in Their Shoes” ensures that young parents so often navigating life in silence are no longer invisible. It’s more than a campaign; it’s a voice of many stories crying  for help, reaching for someone to walk alongside them as they overcome challenges and celebrate their successes. Together, we can nurture hope, ignite change, and uplift every young parent on their journey to thrive.
